ABOUT EARTH CITIZEN
There Is No Single Right Way to Live.
Earth Citizen is a global life-story platform and documentary archive by Oruvena, dedicated to recording the diverse ways people live across our planet.
To discover, document, and share the many ways humans live on Earth.
A world where everyone can discover their own way of living.
Philosophy
“There is no single right way to live.”
We often absorb the way of living handed down by our country, family, school, and society as if it were the only valid path.
Yet across the Earth, people live on entirely different terms—working in great cities with family, living quietly in small villages, building independent crafts, staying devoted to one trade for decades, or starting over in a new place.
We are not here to rank which life is superior. We are here to show that the life you know is not the only one that exists.
Story + Reality + Possibility
Rather than glamorizing lifestyles, every record connects three dimensions:
01. Story
Who is this person, what journey shaped them, and why did they choose this life?
02. Reality
How do they sustain their livelihood, what does a normal day look like, and what is genuinely hard?
03. Possibility
What does it actually take to live this way, and who might thrive—or struggle—in it?
7 Editorial Principles
Every story here belongs to a real human life. We never exploit or sensationalize someone's existence for traffic.
Authenticity
Grounded in real lived experiences and interviews. We never pass off AI-generated fiction or synthetic portraits as real people.
Respect
We never judge one way of living as superior or inferior to another.
Informed Consent
Identifiable portraits and interviews require clear consent. When preferred, we protect subjects via pseudonyms and non-identifying photography (hands, tools, spaces).
Transparency
We clearly distinguish between an interviewee's own words, the author's observations, and translated text.
Everyday Diversity
We value the morning shopkeeper and the lifelong industrial worker just as deeply as the traveler or artist.
Right to Respond
Anyone featured in a story can request factual corrections or removal at any time.
Privacy Protection
We never publish exact home addresses, real-time locations, or sensitive personal data.
Made by Oruvena
Earth Citizen is made and operated by Oruvena, a studio building people-first technology around one idea: Life in Flow. Beyond archiving stories, we aim to build a sustainable ecosystem where people who share their lived experiences and knowledge can also create new opportunities and livelihoods to support their way of living.
